Everything you need to know about VoxDungeon.
What is VoxDungeon?
VoxDungeon is an AI-powered tabletop RPG adventure game built on the open 5e Systems Reference Document. You speak your actions (or type them), and an AI Dungeon Master generates the story, narrates it aloud, rolls dice, and manages combat — all using real 5e SRD rules. Every adventure is procedurally generated and unique.
Is it really free?
Yes. Free accounts get 2 adventures per day with voice input, and the same AI Dungeon Master and voice cast as Premium — no credit card required. Premium ($4.99/month) adds unlimited adventures, your pick of narrator, and playing together with friends.
Do I need to know the rules?
Not at all! The AI DM handles all the rules for you — ability checks, combat, spell casting, death saves, everything. Just tell it what you want to do in plain English. It's a great way to experience tabletop RPGs without needing to read a rulebook.
Can I play with friends?
Yes! VoxDungeon supports multiplayer with built-in voice chat powered by WebRTC. One player hosts the game and gets a 6-character room code. Up to 3 friends can join. Everyone talks to each other while the AI narrates the shared adventure. Premium accounts can host games; free accounts can join them.
What AI powers the Dungeon Master?
VoxDungeon uses large language models (LLMs) to generate stories, dialogue, and encounters. Free and Premium players get the same model and the same voice cast — we do not hold back the Dungeon Master for anyone. Premium lifts the daily limit, lets you pick who narrates, and unlocks playing together with friends.
What happens when my character dies?
VoxDungeon uses roguelike permadeath. When your character hits 0 HP, you get death saving throws just like in the 5e rules. If you fail, that character is gone forever. But you keep your experience — start a new character, pick a different class, and the AI generates a completely new adventure. Every death is a new beginning.
What devices does it work on?
VoxDungeon runs in any modern web browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge — on desktop, tablet and phone. There is nothing to download. On a phone you can add it to your home screen and it opens full-screen like an app. Your progress syncs across devices as soon as you have an account, free or Premium.
